380035 Fixed an issue that caused the IM installation method for the AOM package to fail on BIG-IP 11000, 11050, or 11050N platforms.
380817 AOM now saves the recent contents of serial output from the host across host reboots, even when no serial console is attached. The contents are written to log files on both the AOM and the host, either after a host reboot/power event or at a user's request. This feature is not enabled by default. To enable it, you must manually change and restart the hostconsh script.
383994 AOM now disables IPv6 address auto-configuration from IPv6 router advertisement.
384514 Fixed an issue where 3900 platforms occasionally experienced intermittent blinking LEDs on the front panel at power up.
384515 Fixed an issue where 1600 and 3600 platforms occasionally experienced intermittent blinking LEDs on the front panel at power up.

ID 335776 Power on and power off when using hwreset is now more reliable.

ID 335679 The watchdog timer no longer causes AOM to reboot one or more times when applying power to a 1600 or 3600 platform while the power switch is in the ON position.
ID 335680 The AOM sensor daemon now displays negative temperature readings properly.

Downloading the AOM IM file from F5 Networks

The AOM update is provided as an IM installation package. On supported systems, you can copy the IM package to the system and update AOM.
  1. Log on to https://downloads.f5.com/.
  2. In the Hardware-Specific area, click Platform.
  3. Select aom from the list.
  4. Click the name of the release with the most recent date. You have to accept the software terms and conditions before you can proceed.
  5. Click the file name <file_name>.im to start the download.
  6. Download the corresponding checksum file. The corresponding checksum file has the same name as the IM file, except that .md5 is the file extension.
After the download is complete, you should verify the integrity of the file by checking the MD5 checksum.

Using the MD5 checksum to check the integrity of the download

You can perform this task after you download update files and their corresponding .md5 files from the F5 Networks downloads site (http://downloads.f5.com).
Verify the MD5 checksum on each file you download using the md5sum command. Use the output to verify the integrity of the downloaded file.
  1. Log on to the command line of the system using an account with root access.
  2. Verify the integrity of the downloaded file, where <file_name>.md5 is the name of the .md5 file you downloaded. md5sum -c <file_name>.md5
If the output is OK, the download was successful. If not, you should download the file again and repeat the process.

Installing AOM from an IM installation package

You should copy the IM file to the system you intend to update before you begin this procedure.
You can install the latest version of AOM from an IM file provided by F5 Networks.
  1. Log on to the command line of the system using an account with root access.
  2. Type the following command to install AOM, where <file_name>.im is the name of the file you downloaded: im <file_name>.im When the installation completes, the following system prompt displays: --- Press <Esc>( for Command Menu

Known issues

This release contains the following known issues.

ID Number Description
247891 A full_box_reboot reboots the host but does not reboot AOM. For information about resetting AOM, see the platform guide for your hardware model or http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/9000/400/sol9403.html.
342734 The AOM is not reset under normal conditions, but if it should reboot, it is possible that the Host management interface traffic could be interrupted for as long as 10 seconds.
