This release note documents the version 11.3.0 release of BIG-IP Edge Gateway.
You can apply the software upgrade to systems running software versions 10.x or 11.x. For a list of supported platforms, see SOL9412: The BIG-IP release matrix. For information about which platforms support which module combinations, see SOL10288: BIG-IP software and platform support matrix.

The BIG-IP Edge Gateway platform provides next generation remote access to applications tailored for the network edge. Edge Gateway is supported on the 3900, 6900, 8900, and 11000 hardware platforms. The Edge Gateway product combines the following services: WAN optimization, web acceleration, and access policy control. This combination provides secure, accelerated remote access to networks and applications. Features include unified access to remote, wireless, corporate and branch LAN users, a visual policy editor for creating access policies, endpoint security checking, credential caching for single-sign on, BIG-IP Edge Client for auto-connection to networks, applications and data, application caching, compression, asymmetric and symmetric network and application acceleration, data de-duplication, and Common Internet File System (CIFS) and Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) acceleration.
