F5 has released the BIG-IP Edge Portal application for Android devices, which streamlines access to web applications that reside behind the BIG-IP APM and FirePass devices.

The BIG-IP Edge Portal application for Android has the following features:

• Username/password authentication
• Client certificate support
• Saving credentials and sessions
• Saving local bookmarks and favorites
• Bookmarking keywords
• An embedded web view
• Ability to display all file types that native Mobile Safari supports
• Ability to enforce device locking with PIN or password settings

This application is a lightweight client for Android access to BIG-IP APM and FirePass, and supports only the web application access. You can download the F5 BIG-IP Edge Portal application from the Android marketplace at the following location:

Important: When you are running the BIG-IP APM system, the BIG-IP Edge Portal does not work on web servers that do not support NTLM authentication or basic HTTP authentication methods. You can work around this issue by setting up SSO mapping in the access policy. For instructions about configuring SSO mapping, refer to the Configuration Guide for BIG-IP Access Policy Manager.
